Faraz Razaghi 

Faraz Razaghi was born on August 4th/1981 in Tehran, Iran as the first of two boys in his family. Faraz was a very quiet child and while he was only 9 years old, he became an older brother. Being the oldest brother, he immediately developed a sense of responsibility towards his younger brother Farnoud which has remained with him up to the present time. This sense of responsibility and protectiveness towards his brother and parents helped him in order to build his personality in the coming years.

Growing up, Faraz was always surrounded by a lot of adults. This was due to a large and very intimate family members on his mother’s side. This made Faraz accustomed to the company of adults. He was always more mature in comparison to the children at his age whom he often found to be too childish.

As a child he was always the most imaginative among others. While everybody was off playing soccer and running around in the school-yard, Faraz was always busy making sketches hanging out around the room where the school kept all of the musical instruments. His talent and love for art was obvious to everyone to the extent that the teachers at school contacted his parents about the sketches he was drawing on his break time. Therefore, his parents decided to support this passion from a very young age. His first official endeavor into the art world was through music. He developed a deep love for musical instruments, especially the Bass guitar and he began investing his time and energy on learning this instrument with the support of a private teacher being hired by his parents.

He completed his post-secondary education in the field of Mathematics and Physics in Tehran. His mother and father then decided to send him to Cyprus, Turkey so he could move on to getting Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture Design from the University of Northern Cyprus. After completing his Bachelor’s degree, his parents made the big decision to migrate to Canada. Moving to Canada was a big change and Faraz soon realized that his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Cyprus was not enough for him to be able to work in the Canada so he decided to attend George Brown College to obtain certifications in Architectural Technology. While in college, just like his childhood days, Faraz found himself going to the music room on a daily basis so he decided to enroll into the Fine Arts program offered by George Brown College and obtained a Certification with a focus on music, painting, and sculpture.

Faraz always knew that his parents had made a lot of emotional and financial investment on him. That was why he strived to be the top of his class even though he was never really interested in academics. He soon found that universities and learning institutions limit student’s imagination and ability to create freely and his goal was to have his own company so he could have the freedom to bring his ideas into life. Nevertheless, he graduated as one of the top students in his class and never lost his passion for music along the way. In fact, he was still playing the Bass guitar and had joined a band who did live performances all throughout university. He enjoyed his time so much that he started transferring his skills into playing the Electric Guitar as well.

While in Canada, Faraz inevitably started working as a Consultant Architectural Designer for his father’s Property Development Company who was (and still is) building houses in and around the greater Toronto Area. After a few years, he decided to take on yet another challenge and started his work as a Landscape Designer working with various builders around the GTA. Even though this wasn’t his dream about having his own company, this line of work finally allowed him to tap into his never-ending passion and talent for designing and creating since the work he did was contract work. He created designs and renderings, offered them to the potential employer and he was hired only if his ideas were approved by the employers.

In his spare time Faraz still heavily focuses on his passion for music as well as painting and sculpting. When not at work, you can find Faraz in his office working on different projects. He has taken on numerous personal projects with fantastic results which he keeps as decoration pieces around his office. He has been offered by many individuals to sell his work however, his projects all have a deep personal meaning which is why he has not yet explored the possibility of creating art pieces for sale.

Whether sculpting or painting, Faraz always finds nature and its beauty both fascinating and calming which is why he makes this the main focus of his arts projects. When it comes to music, he has a very different approach. He enjoys Metal and Rock because much like his life, he finds satisfaction in finding the rhythm and flow in the chaos of the many instruments used in these genres of music. His musical career has been mainly focused on these two genres of music and while performing, he was the bass player in a local Rock band back in Cyprus who found a respectable level of recognition by the students on the campus of University of Northern Cyprus and some locals living in that area.

Overall, Faraz Razaghi is a passionate, creative and inventive artist with a deep love for family. This love is what gives him the drive and determination to take on the challenges life has to offer. Even though he never really understood what it means to be a kid, his childhood experiences taught him many important lessons. The importance of family for instance. Faraz maintains a very close relationship with his large family and is a great uncle to the most recent addition to the family, his brother’s son! He is also a fantastic son to his parents, a great grandchild to his grandmother, and a great cousin who can be counted on for anything. For many, this type of pressure would be too much to handle but Faraz has been accustomed to putting family first and being an important part of a large family ever since he was a young kid. He has always been a responsible and loving individual with both family members and people he meets on his journey in life.
He finds joy and happiness in being around family and even though he was never able to create a family of his own, he knows that he has a support system that he can always be trusted.
